**Concept:**

Area of Circle =** πR ^{2}**

Where R = radius of the circle

**D = 2R**

D = Diameter of circle

**Calculation:**

Given:

The Diameter of the circular plate = 6 cm

The diameter of the circle to be cut = 3 cm

\(Radius \ of \ circular \ plate=\frac{6}{2}=3 \ cm\)

\(Radius \ of \ circle=\frac{3}{2} \ cm \)

**Required Area = Area of the circular plate - Area of the circle**

**Area = π3 ^{2} - π(1.5)^{2} **

\(Area \ =\pi(9 \ - \ \frac{9}{4})\)
