Visualization of rivers and streams starting at McKenzie River, Oregon and zooming out to Lower 48 States
This is a visualization of streams and rivers in the lower 48 United States. Waterway line thickness is driven by 'stream power'; so, smaller waterways are thinner and more powerful ones are thicker. The waterway paths and powers are from GloRiC data. The colors are arbitrary and denote difference hydro basins (level 3) which are driven by HydroBASIN data.
This visualization was created in support of a longer video story that features fires in the McKenzie River region.
