Hurricane Charley Progression
SeaWiFS tracks Hurricane Charley from August 9, 2004 to August 15, 2004. This animation zooms down to the Caribbean Sea where Hurricane Charley was first classified as a Tropical Depression. It ends in the Gulf of Maine where it lost its status as a Tropical Depression. It shows the SeaWiFS image from each day with the track of the eye of the storm overlaid on top of each image. Green denotes Tropical Depression status. Gold denotes Tropical Storm status. On the Saffir Simpson scale, red is hurricane category 1, orange is hurricane category 3, and purple is hurricane category 4.
This animation shows Hurricane Charley from August 9, 2004 to August 15, 2004. It shows the track and intensity of the storm with a colored path. Green denotes Tropical Depression status. Gold denotes Tropical Storm status. Red is Hurricane 1 on the Saffir Simpson scale. Orange is Hurricane 3 on the Saffir Simpson scale. Purple is Hurricane 4 on the Saffir Simpson scale.

Hurricane Charley makes landfall on August 13, 2004. The storm packed winds of 125 MPH and pressure of 954 MB.
Hurricane Charley on August 14, 2004. The storm packed winds of 75 MPH and pressure of 994 MB.
Tropical Storm Charley on August 15, 2004. The storm packed winds of 54 MPH and pressure of 1005 MB.
