SDO Figure 8
This video shows the dedicated ground station in White Sands, New Mexico and the path of the Solar Dynamics Observatory satellite. SDO is in an inclined geosynchronous orbit and traces a figure-8 every 24 hours. This allows the satellite to keep a continuous, high-data-rate link with the ground.
