NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope Arrives Safely at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in California

The James Webb Space Telescope is the largest space telescope ever built. After completing its cryogenic testing at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Webb’s optical and science segment is loaded into a special container. Webb is headed for Ellington Joint Reserve Base where its transport plane awaits. Webb makes the journey from Houston to Los Angeles in a U.S. Air Force C5 Galaxy Cargo plane. It’s headed to Los Angeles to be combines with its sunshield and spacecraft bus. Webb is unloaded at Los Angeles International Airport. Webb is moved after midnight to the Northrop Grumman facility. At Northrop Grumman, Webb is placed into a large clean room facility. The Webb Telescope is an international partnership between NASA, ESA and CSA.
