Clearly in order to sustain the trends that we have both in population and in per capita consumption, we're going to have to be transforming more and more of the planet's landscape into managed ecosystems; mostly for agriculture. And people do worry about what that means in terms of the loss of natural ecosystems and the biodiversity that is held there. Agricultural systems tend to have very low biological diversity as you grow one or two types of crops and you apply pesticides and things like that, so I think there is a concern about what an agricultural planet is going to look like in terms of the ability to sustain itself and its vulnerability to outbreaks of pests and other imbalances that can take place in a sort of a monoculture-like situation.
