            "description": "Earth’s global sea levels are rising – and are doing so at an accelerating rate. Waters in the ocean are expanding as they absorb massive amounts of heat trapped by greenhouse gases in Earth’s atmosphere. Glaciers and ice sheets are adding hundreds of gigatons of meltwater into the oceans each year. With satellites, airborne missions, shipboard measurements, and supercomputers, NASA has been investigating sea level rise for decades. Together with our international and interagency partners, we’re monitoring the causes of sea level rise with high accuracy and precision. Global sea level is rising approximately 0.13 inches (3.3 millimeters) a year. That’s 30% more than when NASA launched its first satellite mission to measure ocean heights in 1992.nasa.gov/sea-level-rise-2020 || ",

This visualization captures monthly Sea Surface Temperature (SST) anomalies around the world from 2009-2018, along with locations of global disease outbreaks and a corresponding timeline showcasing the Niño 3.4 Index. The Niño 3.4 Index represents average equatorial sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean from about the International Date Line to the coast of South America. Highlighted in the timeline are the above average El Niño years, in which sea surface temperature anomalies peaked during 2015-2016. || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_0769_print.jpg (1024x576) [130.6 KB] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_0769_searchweb.png (320x180) [79.7 KB] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_0769_thm.png (80x40) [7.0 KB] || Composite (1920x1080) [0 Item(s)] || Composite (1920x1080) [0 Item(s)] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_p30.mp4 (1920x1080) [23.0 MB] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_0769.tif (1920x1080) [1.3 MB] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_p30.webm (1920x1080) [4.7 MB] || SSTENSO_Diseases_Comp_2009_2018_1920x1080_p30.mp4.hwshow [211 bytes] || ",

            "description": "This visualization starts with a global view of the Western hemisphere. The viewer then moves in over the arctic on December 27, 2015. Winds and air temperature fade in as time moves forward. A low pressure system then moves in pushing warm air ahead of it. The warm air moves over the Arctic sea ice, contributing to dramatic melting of the sea ice concentration in this region. || arctic_cyclone_comp7.0710_print.jpg (1024x576) [214.4 KB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7.0710_searchweb.png (320x180) [121.2 KB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7.0710_thm.png (80x40) [7.4 KB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7_1080p30.mp4 (1920x1080) [45.6 MB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7_720p30.mp4 (1280x720) [28.2 MB] || comp (1920x1080) [128.0 KB] || date_overlay (1920x1080) [128.0 KB] || low_pressure_overlay (1920x1080) [128.0 KB] || wind_overlay (1920x1080) [64.0 KB] || temperature_overlay (1920x1080) [128.0 KB] || country_names_overlay (1920x1080) [64.0 KB] || earth_with_sea_ice_background (1920x1080) [64.0 KB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7_1080p30.webm (1920x1080) [4.9 MB] || arctic_cyclone_comp7_360p30.mp4 (640x360) [11.1 MB] || ",

            "description": "Animation showing Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly (SSTA) and Terrestrial Water Storage Anomaly (TWSA) data from 2002 to 2015 simultaneously. For SSTA data, blues indicate temperatures lower than normal and reds are areas warmer than normal. With this data we can see the comings and goings of El Niño and La Niña across the years. For the TWSA data, browns indicate areas with less ground water than normal and greens are areas with more ground water than normal, which correlates to droughts and floods in these various regions. Furthermore, terrestrial areas that show significant amounts of low water storage are much more sensitive to wildfires. || grace_w_ssta_rob2.4991_print.jpg (1024x576) [133.2 KB] || grace_w_ssta_rob2.4991_searchweb.png (180x320) [91.1 KB] || grace_w_ssta_rob2.4991_thm.png (80x40) [7.7 KB] || grace_w_ssta_rob2_2x_1080p30.mp4 (1920x1080) [41.8 MB] || composite (1920x1080) [0 Item(s)] || robinson_projection (1920x1080) [0 Item(s)] || dates (1920x1080) [0 Item(s)] || grace_w_ssta_rob2_2x_1080p30.webm (1920x1080) [9.8 MB] || ",
