The team uses the Noah-MP land surface model and assimilates soil moisture from the European Space Agency’s Climate Change Initiative Program (ESA CCI), leaf area index from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), and terrestrial water storage anomalies from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment and the follow-on missions (GRACE/GRACE-FO).
