رسم الخريطة

تستخدم هذه الخريطة مجموعات بيانات من عدة بعثات لوكالة ناسا. تم حساب بيانات الكسوف بواسطة فنان التصور إرني رايت باستخدام معلومات الارتفاع من SRTM، وتضاريس القمر من LRO، ومواقع الكواكب من تقويم JPL DE421 الفلكي. استخدمت فنانة التصور الرئيسية، ميكالا جاريسون، صور \"بلورة الأرض الزرقاء من الجيل التال التابعة لناسا لإنشاء خريطة التضاريس. وبالمثل، تم استخدام صور بلورة الأرض السوداء التابعة لوكالة ناسا على طول مسار كسوف الشمس الكلي لعام 2024.

قراءة الخريطة

المسار المظلم عبر الخريطة هو المكان الذي سيغطي فيه القمر أكبر مساحة من الشمس. سيشهد الأشخاص في هذا المسار كسوفًا كليًا للشمس. يوجد داخل مسار الكسوف المظلم أشكال بيضاوية غير منتظمة تحدد ظل القمر على سطح الأرض. بالنسبة لكسوف الشمس الكلي، تسمى الأشكال البيضاوية بالظلمة وتخلق مسار الكسوف الكلي. على الخريطة، تحتوي الأشكال البيضاوية على أوقات بالداخل تتوافق مع شكل ظل القمر في ذلك الوقت أثناء الكسوف.

يوجد أيضًا ضمن المسار المظلم مخططات المدة. تحدد هذه المخططات طول الوقت الذي ستستمر فيه كُلية الكسوف. كلما اقتربنا من مركز مسار كسوف الشمس، كلما طال أمده. بالنسبة لمسار الكسوف الكلي، تتراوح الأوقات حتى 4 دقائق.

خارج مسار الكسوف، تعرض الخريطة مخططات التعتيم، أو النسبة المئوية لمساحة الشمس التي يغطيها القمر. يمكن للقراء تتبع الخطوط إلى النسب المئوية المطبوعة على جميع جوانب الخريطة والتي تتراوح من 95% إلى 10% من التعتيم. يمثل المسار المظلم عندما يبدأ التعتيم بنسبة 100%.
