"description": "Inilalarawan ng mapang ito ang mga landas ng anino ng Buwan sa buong U.S. sa panahon ng total solar eclipse ng 2024. Sa Abril 8, 2024, may total solar eclipse na tatawid sa North at Central America na dahilan ng pagkakaroon ng landas ng totality. Sa panahon ng total solar eclipse, ganap na hinaharangan ng Buwan ang Araw habang dumadaan ito sa pagitan ng Araw at Lupa. Magdidilim ang langit na parang madaling araw o takipsilim, at maaaring makita ng mga nasa landas ng totality ang panlabas na atmospera ng Araw (ang korona) kung maganda ang panahon.
Paggawa ng Mapa
Gumagamit ang mapa na ito ng mga dataset mula sa ilang misyon ng NASA. Ang data ng eclipse ay kinalkula ng visualizer na si Ernie Wright gamit ang impormasyon ng elevation mula sa SRTM, topograpiya ng buwan mula sa LRO, at posisyon ng mga planeta mula sa JPL DE421 ephemeris. Ginamit ng nangungunang visualizer, si Michala Garrison, ang larawan ng Lupa mula sa Blue Marble Next Generation ng NASA para makagawa ng mapa ng daanan. Gayundin, ginamit ang larawan ng Lupa sa gabi mula sa Black Marble ng NASA sa daanan ng 2024 total solar eclipse.
Pagbabasa ng Mapa
Ang madilim na daan sa buong mapa ay ang pinakamalaking bahagi ng Araw na matatakpan ng Buwan. Ang mga tao sa landas na ito ay makakaranas ng total solar eclipse. Sa loob ng daan ng dark eclipse ay may mga hindi magkakapantay na oval na naglalarawan sa anino ng Buwan sa ibabaw ng Lupa. Para sa total solar eclipse, ang mga oval ay tinatawag na umbra at gumagawa ng landas ng totality. Sa mapa, ang mga oval ay may mga oras sa loob na katulad ng hugis ng anino ng Buwan sa oras na iyon sa panahon ng eclipse.
Nasa loob din ng madilim na daan ang mga contour ng tagal nito. Ang mga ito ay naglalarawan ng tagal ng totality. Kapag mas malapit sa gitna ng daan ng solar eclipse, mas matagal ito. Para sa kabuoang daan, umaabot ng hanggang 4 na minuto ang tagal.
Sa labas ng daan ng eclipse, ipinapakita ng mapa ang mga contour ng obscuration, o porsyento ng bahagi ng Araw na natatakpan ng Buwan. Maaaring masubaybayan ng mga mambabasa ang mga linya hanggang sa mga porsyentong nakalimbag sa lahat ng panig ng mapa mula 95% hanggang 10% obscuration. Ang madilim na daan magsisimula kapag nagsimula ang 100% obscuration.
