It was created in support of a presentation at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) in October 2004. Scales are not accurate in this visualization. The Earth is about 3 times larger than it would actually appear. The source of the moon texture is unknown; it is thought to be a composite from several missions. The Earth texture was captured as the Galileo spacecraft swung by the Earth in 1990 for a gravity assist on its way to Jupiter. || ",
