This visualization was made to demonstrate a technique developed by scientists to remove clouds from data images by using cloud data. Initially, you will see a portion of South America with the clouds obstructing the view, then fades to a mask to mask out the clouds, and then removes the clouds from the view, leaving the view of South America unobstructed.
