This visualization shows a side by side comparision of the ASTER image and the city structure image. This helps
scientist and city planners to monitor the city growth. 2142 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Urban Ecology of Baltimore, MD. 01:00:35:00  -   01:01:30:00
This visualization shows a side by side comparision of the ASTER image and the city structure image. This helps
scientist and city planners to monitor the city growth. 2143 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Urban Ecology of Phoenix, AZ. 01:01:45:00  -   01:02:39:09
This visualization shows a side by side comparision of the ASTER image and the city structure image of both
Baltimore (left) and Phoenix (right). This helps scientist and city planners to monitor the city growth. 2144 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Comparing the Urban Ecology of Two Cities. 01:02:55:00  -   01:03:19:16
Zooming down to the Dobbin Glacier in Alaska. 2145 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Global Land Ice Measurements from Space. (Dobbin Glacier Zoom) 01:03:35:00  -   01:04:05:11
Taking a closer look at Dobbin Glacier. 2146 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Global Land Ice Measurements from Space. (Dobbin Glacier Zoom 2) 01:04:21:00  -   01:04:51:16
Looking at Mt. Bezymianny and its volcanic vent. Comparing the
red pixels of 10-25-00 and 12-30-00 to show the vent and lava run off. 2147 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Measuring Bezymianny Flows 01:05:16:00  -   01:05:44:13
A comparision of AVHRR and ASTER data. 2148 AGU Press Briefing May 29th: Measuring Bezymianny Flows; AVHRR vs.ASTER 01:06:00:00  -   01:06:30:18
In this animation the green is taken away to let the Impervious Surface
Cover stand out. 2176 Impervious Surface Cover: Paved Areas in DC and Baltimore 01:20:07:00  -   01:20:32:01
Here we see an image of the Baltimore-D.C. area taken with the
Landsat satellite on March 27, 1998. For over 26 years, Landsat images have been
used to help urban planners understand where growth is taking place and help
geographers evaluate how different urban planning programs effect population
growth and land use. 2178 Impervious Surface Cover: Full Graph of DC and Baltimore 01:20:07:00  -   01:20:32:01
A special algorithm has been applied to the Landsat 7 image to
illuminate the changes in low-density residential land use which exemplify sprawl. 2177 Impervious Surface Cover: Non-Paved Areas 01:20:47:00  -   01:21:11:16
Here we see an image of the DC area taken with the
Landsat satellite on March 27, 1998. 2179 Impervious Surface Cover: Close Up of DC 01:22:07:00  -   01:22:33:11
Here we see an image of the Baltimore area taken with the
Landsat satellite on March 27, 1998. For over 26 years, Landsat images have been
used to help urban planners understand where growth is taking place and help
geographers evaluate how different urban planning programs effect population
growth and land use. 2180 Impervious Surface Cover: Close Up of Baltimore 01:22:48:00  -   01:23:15:02

*Please note: the SVS does not fulfill requests for copies of the tapes in our library. On some of our animation pages, there is a direct link to a video distribution service from which tapes, handled by the Public Affairs Office (PAO)/Goddard TV, including some of our animations may be ordered. General information on this service can be found here.
