This visualization presents a 3-D view of the largest structures in the universe. It begins with data from the Sloan Sky Survey and zooms out to reveal data from WMAP.   10136 Writer
  SLOAN Digital Sky Survey
This animation shows a string of other potential universes. When two touch together, they cause a spark, possibly creating another universe.   10137 Writer
  Brane Theory of Multiple Dimensions
This animation provides a cutaway of a black hole's accretion disk, allowing the viewer to see inside.   10139 Writer
  Black Hole Accretion Disk
A closer look at the center of a spiral galaxy reveals a pair of black holes locked in a death spiral. When they merge, a massive amount of energy is released in the form of jets.   10140 Writer
  Merging Black Holes
LISA's three spacecraft are separated from each other by 5 million kilometers.   10125 Writer
  The LISA Spacecraft
This animation shows the perspective of one of the LISA spacecraft.   10126 Writer
  LISA's Laser Beams
As the camera zooms out from one of the LISA spacecraft, the gravitational waves passing through become visible.   10127 Writer
  LISA Detects Gravitational Waves
This animation shows a Cepheid variable star varying in brightness in the arm of a spiral galaxy.   10145 Writer
  Cepheid Variable in Spiral Galaxy
This animation shows a wide shot of a millisecond pulsar.   10143 Writer
  Millisecond Pulsar with Gravitational Waves
This animation zooms into a black hole and its accretion disk to show a millisecond pulsar in close-up.

Millisecond Pulsar with Magnetic Field Structure
Because of their high altitude, near the edge of space, noctilucent clouds shine at night when the Sun's rays hit them from below while the lower atmosphere is bathed in darkness. Also known as Polar Mesospheric Clouds or PMCs, they typically form in the cold, summer polar mesosphere and are made of water ice crystals. In April 2007 the Aeronomy of Ice in the Mesosphere (AIM) Mission was launched with the express purpose of studying noctilucent clouds.   10002 Writer

This is the standard definition version of the SUV Rollover animation MPEG.   10004 Writer
  SUV Rollovers: Center of Gravity
Flat world map showing with yellow dots the approximately 150 verified craters scattered throughout the world. They are largely grouped on the North American, European, and Australian continents.   2512 Writer
