This animation shows the monthly average total-sky incoming solar flux
from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3095   Average Total-sky Incoming Solar Flux (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average total-sky net
radiant flux from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3094   Average Total-sky Net Radiant Flux (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average clear-sky net
radiant flux from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3093   Average Clear-sky Net Radiant Flux (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average total-sky outgoing
longwave flux from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3092   Average Total-sky Outgoing Longwave Flux (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average clear-sky outgoing
longwave flux from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3091   Average Clear-sky Outgoing Longwave Flux (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average total-sky albedo
from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3090   Average Total-sky Albedo (WMS)
This animation shows the monthly average clear-sky albedo
from CERES for July 2002 through June 2004.   3089   Average Clear-sky Albedo (WMS)
Newly updated print resolution image showing the retreat of Jakobshavns calving front from 2001 to 2004.   3076   Jakobshavn Glacier Calving Front Recession Updated (2001-2004)
Jakobshavn glacier flow with 1992 data in red and 2000 data in blue   3072   Jakobshavn Glacier, Greenland flow field
As the Jakobshavn Glacier discharges ice from its mouth, tributary ice streams show signs of acceleration. This series of Landsat images from 2002 shows rapid migration of ice features downstream, triggering adjacent land ice to accelerate downslope. A sequence of 7 Landsat images cycles at the end of the animation repeatedly to better see the flow.   3054   Jakobshavn Glacial Floe
Print resolution image showing the retreat of Jakobshavns calving front from 2001 to 2003.   3053   Jakobshavn Glacier Calving Front Recession (2001-2003)
A rendering of the model of the Earths magnetosphere. The flat ribbons represent charged particles entering the influence of the magnetosphere and being deflected. The curved lines visible to the right represent the magnetic field lines extending out from the Earth. The force from the sun pushes these lines into a distinctive tail-like shape. Finally, the green surface represents a constant value for the magnetic field strength.   3028   A 3-Dimensional Model of the Magnetosphere (WMS)
This animation shows the portion of the Earth visible from the Galileo spacecraft.   2971   Galileo Earth Views (WMS)
Animated isosurfaces of earth stress below Hawaii. The blue objects indicate the shape of the stress distribution and the yellow objects indicate the high stress areas.   2970   Volumetric Visualization of the Convection-generated Stresses in Earth
An image of the Earth's major tectonic plates.   2953   Tectonic Plates and Plate Boundaries (WMS)
Mission proposal for polar orbiting cloud sensor (w- swaths)   2935   Mission Proposal: Polar GOES-like spacecraft (riding the spacecraft - animated swaths)
Mission proposal for polar orbiting cloud sensor (with animated clouds)   2934   Mission Proposal: Polar GOES-like spacecraft (riding the spacecraft - animated clouds)
Mission proposal beauty shot still   2933   Mission Proposal: Polar GOES-like spacecraft (beauty shot)
SeaWiFS recorded the recovery of ocean life around the Galapagos Islands during May, 1998.   2913   Life Returns to the Galapagos after El Nino (WMS)
Urban growth in the Pearl River Estuary near Shenzhen, China, from 1973 to 2001 as measured by Landsat   2911   Urbanization around the Pearl River Estuary in China from 1973 through 2001 (WMS)
This animation shows the progression of the fires in and around Yellowstone National Park during the summer of 1988, overlayed on a false-color image from Landsat 7.. Independent fires are shown in different colors, and the most recently burned areas are shown in a brighter color.   2909   Wildfire Growth around Yellowstone National Park in 1988 (WMS)
This animation shows cumulative global volcano activity from 1960 through 1995. The color of each dot indicates the strength of the activity of the volcano.   2908   Volcano Activity from 1960 through 1995 (WMS)
This animation shows stratospheric ozone over the entire earth. Red and yellow areas denote regions of high ozone density and dark blue represents areas of low ozone.   2904   Global Ozone from 2000 through 2003 (WMS)
This animation shows the original data for stratospheric ozone over the entire earth. Data gaps--areas where the instrument did not collect data--have not been interpolated. Red and yellow areas denote regions of high ozone density and dark blue represents areas of low ozone.   2903   Ozone Measurements from 2000 through 2003 (WMS)
This visualization shows the total precipitable water in the atmosphere, indicated by the gray to white cloud-like structures, and predicted precipitation, indicated by gold, during the 1997-1998 El Nino.   2902   Atmospheric Water Vapor during the 1997-1998 El Niño (WMS)
