2015 Explore@NASA Goddard B-Roll

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, Goddard Space Flight Center opened its doors to give the public a chance to explore Goddard’s main areas of Earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, astrophysics, and engineering and technology. In celebration of the Hubble Space Telescope’s 25th anniversary, this year’s event highlighted the theme "Celebrating Hubble and the Spirit of Exploration."

There were more than 130 hands-on activities and exhibits, along with more than 30 presentations and 13 tours for visitors to explore. Guests also had the opportunity to chat with NASA astronauts, scientists, and engineers.

Visitors toured the Hubble Control Center and got hands-on experience with tools used on Hubble. Visitors also got a behind-the-scenes look at NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, currently being built and tested at Goddard.

Tours also included stops at the giant thermal vacuum and acoustic chambers where satellites and satellite instruments are tested, as well as Goddard’s television studios and the Visitor Center.
